Cookie policy

Last updated on 22 October 2026.

In summary

Without your consent chatonpage.com only places the cookies needed for the website, the portal and the chat to work. With your consent we also use cookies from Google and Meta on this website, to measure which ads work and to show you relevant ads. You choose in the cookie banner, and you can always change your choice via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

The chat widget on our customers' websites never uses tracking cookies, and neither does the portal.

Who are we?

Chat on Page is a service provided by Gintronics BV, Tategemstraat 22, 8790 Waregem, Belgium, company number BE 0554.684.305, info@gintronics.com.

Advertising cookies, only with your consent

Only when you accept Marketing in the cookie banner do we load the services below. Without consent the Google tag only sends signals without cookies and without personal data (Consent Mode), and Meta does not load at all.

If you create an account after accepting Marketing, we also report that registration, and later a first payment, directly to Google and Meta, with your email address in hashed form. That lets them find the ad you saw. Google and Meta may process data outside the European Union, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Local storage used by the chat widget

The chat widget (on this site and on our customers’ websites) stores some data in your browser’s local storage so the chat works as you expect. It does not contain any name, email address or other personal data, and nothing is used to track you.

NamePurposeRetention period
cop:visitorA random code for your chat, so your conversation continues when you go to another page.Until you delete them in your browser
cop:…:openWhether the chat window was open, so it stays open on the next page.Until you close the tab
cop:…:pagesHow many pages you viewed during this visit, if the website only shows the chat after a few pages.Until you close the tab
cop:…:nudgedWhether you have already seen or closed the chat welcome card, so it does not keep reappearing.Until you delete them in your browser

If you choose to speak to the chat, your browser will first request access to your microphone. The recording is only used to convert your question into text and is not stored.

On our customers’ websites

Companies place the Chat on Page chat widget on their own website. There, the widget only uses the local storage listed above, not tracking cookies. The company providing the chat states this in its own cookie and privacy policy. For the conversations in the chat, Chat on Page processes data on behalf of that company.

Technical log files

Like any web server, our server keeps technical log files (including your IP address, the time and the requested page) to secure the service and detect faults. These are not cookies. We store them for 14 days and do not use them for statistics or marketing.

Your rights and contact

You can always delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings; without the session cookie, however, you cannot sign in to the portal. For more on how we handle personal data, see the privacy policy. Questions? Email info@gintronics.com. You can also file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and the cookie banner asks for your choice again.
